Christmas 2007

(Catch-Up Post) It was so much fun watching Isaac's surprise and apparent delight with each aspect of the Christmas celebration this year. I've always loved the whole Christmas season, but experiencing it with him at this age introduced an entirely new element of enjoyment. I hope he always esteems this holiday, both for its true meaning and for a time of special closeness with family.
He had a lot of fun helping to put up and decorate the Christmas tree. As always, he thoroughly enjoyed both our trips to Arkansas and to Louisiana/Mississippi. Not surprisingly, he also loved opening both his presents and his stocking from Santa. He was thrilled with whatever was inside the box, bag, or stocking. He would carefully remove small segments of paper until someone else would pitch in and help. If it was a toy, he would start trying to take it out of its box. It was often hard to get him to move from that toy and open another present. He didn't understand why he couldn't go ahead and play with each new gift. If it was clothing, he was just as happy. He would ooh and aah over it, and sometimes try to put it on. After he opened an outfit from Aunt Candy, he immediately put on the little yellow jacket and wore it for the rest of the evening. He was easily as proud of it as any of his new toys.
