You are now THREE!!! I can't believe it! What a big boy you are becoming! You are changing and growing up so quickly!
I'm amazed at your vocabulary. We were at the doctor's office the other day, and as always, the dreaded ear check had to take place. You began screaming and crying before the doc even got a peek. After it was all over, the nurse came back in and asked you what the fuss was all about. You put your head down, started shaking it from side to side, and hem-hawed around for a minute before telling her. "Well...I was...I just...I got FRUSTRATED!" HA! Everyone within earshot laughed out loud for several minutes! --- Another instance happened the other day during bath time. I noticed you got quiet, so I went to see if you were ready to get out. You were stretched out in your bubble bath with your fingers intertwined behind your head, and said, "No, Mom, I'm just trying to get comfortable and relax!"
You are also very active. You and Noah move all over the house, taking turns chasing each other. You have a bit of an advantage - you can walk and run - but you play well with Noah anyway and let him catch you sometimes. ;) You love to play outside (if only it weren't sooo hot!). Your favorite outdoor activities are swimming, sliding and climbing at the park, "helping daddy," playing baseball and golf in the backyard, and going for family walks. Inside, your favorite toys are probably still your racecars. You spend lots of time racing cars down your racetrack. You like anything to do with music and crack me up when you sing (and rap!) with the toy microphones. You also like anything that you can make "go" or that makes noise, and you like to pretend.
You are learning lots of new things. You can sing your alphabet, count to 13, and know most of the basic colors and shapes. You like to read and just got your own library card this past weekend. You felt so big. You are also working on potty training. You've "put your pee-pee in the potty" once. That was a few days ago. You were telling me a story and didn’t really know you were doing it until I noticed and pointed it out. Of course, that made it stop. ;) You've spent lots of time at the potty since then, but no more luck yet. As much time was we are spending on it, though, it will happen again soon, even if by chance. You are at least willing to try, now, which I am proud of. --- You are learning how to work the effort to your favor already. The time you actually did go pee-pee, you only agreed to go try in an effort to get Daddy to wait a little bit longer with you before he left for work. Right after he left, you went in the potty. The last three nights at supper, you finished eating what you wanted and then announced to Daddy, "Oh, I've got to go...quick, quick! I gotta go!" By night two, we caught on that you were trying to get out of eating the rest of your healthy items. Last night, you had to come back and eat some more after you finished trying, and sure enough, a fit ensued!
We went to the doctor this week for another check on the wheezing. This is the first time they've called it asthma. Right now, you are back to taking four treatments a day, twice with Pulmicort and Xopenex, and twice with just Xopenex. They also put you on a daily dose of Zyrtec. Hopefully, you will only have to take the Xopenex a few more days (it makes you extrememly hyper), but you will stay on the Pulmicort for several months this time in an effort to heal your lungs. Our personal hope is that, by that point, we can then control your flare-ups with just the Zyrtec. You are such a trooper with the treatments. We are very proud of how well you handle them.
Your favorite foods are pizza and burritos. You pizza pick is Canadian bacon and pineapple and you like bean and cheese burritos. When we are out, you like to get "wrappies" at Chick-Fil-A. Your favorite drinks are orange juice and Sprite. You like to drink from a straw and, at home, choose your straw to match your cup. Breakfast is your least favorite meal. Your favorite TV shows include Sid the Science Kid (PBS), Superwhy (PBS), Clifford the Big Red Dog (PBS), Toot and Puddle (NOGGIN), and Jack's Big Music Show (NOGGIN). Your overall favorite is STILL The Upside Down Show (NOGGIN), which has been cancelled, but we have several episodes saved on our DVR. Your favorite movie is the "racecars" movie (Cars). You like to hear a story and a lullaby before falling asleep, and you like to sleep with your puppy, "Two Dollars." You love people and make friends easily everywhere we go. You love to go to church and see your friends there. You can list all of them that you expect to see while we get ready. You can't wait to say, "Wheeee, round and round we go....wheeeeee" every time on the way to church (where the toll road exits onto 635).You also like to play with Brenden and Colin, your friends near our home. You love to visit family and can distinguish between who goes with which family. You are still sweet-natured and affectionate and give great hugs and kisses. (I hope that never changes!)
Your daddy and I love you so much and feel you are such a blessing to us. May God continue to bless you to be healthy and sweet, and grow into a smart, compassionate, happy, and God-fearing young man.
