Happy 7 Months!

Isaac is 7 months old today! Happy Birthday To You!!!

He had a check-up with his new pediatrician Monday. He weighed in at 18 lbs. 2 oz. and measured 75 cm. long (about 30 inches). She didn't comment on the weight, but double-checked the height and said that measurement put him in the 90th percentile on height for his age. He passed all her tests, met all his little milestones, and everything seemed to check out fine.

He is learning new things every day - it is fascinating to watch him! He can roll over front to back and back to front and pushes himself up on his elbows when on his tummy. He can now sit up by himself with his legs in tripod fashion for several seconds. He jabbers constantly and is beginning to string sounds together and adjust his inflection to form baby-language sentences. He will sometimes hold his own bottle and is fascinated with the whole eating/drinking process. He can blow some amazing spit bubbles and seemingly direct them at times!

He has greatly improved his hand control and can pick objects up and transfer them back and forth between hands. When I hold my hand out to him, he will reach back with his and we shake hands. He thinks this is a funny game. He has also started opening and closing his hands when he sees something he wants and sometimes when someone waves at him.

The name Isaac is of Hebrew origin and means "laughter." It seems to fit him well. He is sweet-natured and loves to laugh. His smile can light up the room. He also enjoys cuddling and gives great hugs. We are extremely thankful for such a blessing in our lives.
