Allergist

Sorry to just now be posting our report - it's been a busy week! We went to the allergist on Tuesday. I was so proud of Isaac. He had a moment of screaming, squirming panic when he had to lay down on his tummy and she began touching his back, but we had a little talk about how she was trying to help him and that if he was too squirmy, it might just hurt more. After that, he was very cooperative. He squinched when she "stuck" him, but I managed to keep him still and down on the table. He really didn't fight nearly as much as I was afraid. We were so thankful he did ok with it.

The tests showed an allergy to dust mites, mold and tree nuts (basically any nut other than peanut). She said that peanut testing gives 50% false positives. Since he had eaten peanut butter before and never reacted, she didn't want to test him for that. She figures he's ok with them, but (per her suggestion) we are avoiding any products that have nuts of any variety outside our home to keep him safe. --- We go back in December for a follow up unless we have an issue before then. He is to stay on Pulmicort (in nebulizer) and Nasonex once a day and use Zyrtec and Xopenex (in nebulizer) as needed for his allergies and asthma. So...all in all...it could have been much worse!

Following the testing, I took him to Chick-Fil-A for a "wrappy" and let him play in their playland for a while. Then, we went to the library and got a bunch of new books and movies. After that, we picked out a set of Cars wall stickers for his bedroom. He was so excited! He told me that he had a really fun, good day. :) He is such a trooper!
