Home Makeover - Part 1

We bought this particular house in Kilgore because we loved the size of both the house and the backyard. Both were quite a bit larger than anything else we could find in our price range. The house needed quite a bit of work, but we bought it for its potential. :) We've worked on every room except the master and guest bedrooms and the room we refer to as the "bonus room." We had big plans for those rooms as well, but we had to draw the line somewhere when we found out we would be moving quickly and needed to get it listed as soon as possible. Below are some pictures of the updates and changes we've made to our house during the year and a half we've lived here.

This is the dining room and a peek into the laundry room. We ripped up 3 layers of linoleum and put the ceramic tile on the floor in the laundry room, kitchen, and dining room. We also removed the not-so-lovely, shimmery, pink and green wallpaper and painted the walls, 2 doors, and the trimwork.
In the kitchen, we removed 6 layers of paint from the cabinets and repainted them, removed formica from the countertops and backsplash and replaced it with ceramic tile, installed a vent hood, and put the ceramic tile down on the floor. We sincerely appreciate all the help we received from my mom on the cabinets and Jim's mom, Candy, Lynnsey, Joe, and Kristy on the countertops!!!

In our living room, we removed the wallpaper and retextured and painted the walls. We also painted the fireplace surround and mantel and hung new curtains.
