New Home!

Woo-Hoo! It's been a challenging and slightly stressful month, but things are really moving along well, now. We've received the appraisals and offer from Halliburton for our house in Kilgore. It is slightly more than we need to go ahead with the house we like in Frisco (North Dallas). We feel very blessed that things worked out so nicely with the selling of our current home and are excited to move into our new place. We've made an offer on the house in this picture and it has been accepted, so we are currently waiting for the paperwork and financial processes to take their course. Our closing date is set for Dec. 20th for now, so hopefully we can be in by Christmas!!! :)

The house in Frisco was built in 2002, so it is quite a bit newer than the one we currently live in. I'm excited to say it is move-in ready. By this, I mean there is nothing that we are looking at as a project that will need to be done before we can settle in -- there is no wallpaper and all the walls are painted in a nuetral shade. How Nice!!! I think of the theme song to "The Jeffersons," "Movin' On Up" with a smile. "Our piece of the pie" to quote the song, would be the back yard. It is the biggest we could find in our house hunt and is indeed, the shape of a slice of pie! :)

Jim will have about a 30 to 45 minute commute into work, depending on traffic, but the houses that are closer in to Dallas are both older and more expensive. By choosing to stay in a suburb, we could afford a 4-bedroom home which will be nice for when you all come for a visit! We also really like the town of Frisco - everything there is new since it is a more recently developed area of Dallas. They also have some of the better schools in the area, according to the numbers on the Internet and the opinions of several people we've asked. Having such close neighbors will take some getting used to, but hopefully it will work out ok.

We are waiting anxiously to get settled so everyone can come for a visit! For now, though, I will post some pictures so you all can see what it looks like.
